What is Glaucoma?

A condition of the eye in which damage is caused to the nerve of the eye, the optic nerve.

What are the types of glaucoma?

                     There are two main types of glaucoma:-

      • Angle Closure Glaucoma

      • Open Angle Glaucoma

What are the risk factors of glaucoma?

  • Family history of glaucoma

  • High Intraocular pressure

What are the symptoms of glaucoma?

  • Blurring of vision

  • Headache

  • Feeling of heaviness of the eye

What is the treatment of glaucoma?

  • Medical treatment includes anti glaucoma drops belonging to different classes. Initially drops can be used to treat the disorder. If the disorder persists or gets worsened, then surgical intervention might be needed in the form of glaucoma drainage devices or trabeculectomy.
